This week’s UFC 96 lines for Saturday’s card in Columbus, OH are favoring a former champion who is trying to make his way back to the light-heavyweight title, but standing in the way is a fighter who has been known to make life difficult for his opponents, as well as sportsbook players.
UFC 96 Odds – Saturday, March 7, 7:00 PM ET
Quentin “Rampage” Jackson (29-7) was a UFC betting darling in 2007, as he was the light-heavyweight division and even scored a win over Dan Henderson to unify the Pride middleweight title with the UFC light-heavyweight belt. But a loss to Forrest Griffin sent Jackson into a depression, and he was eventually arrested and sent to a mental-health institution. Jackson then returned in UFC 92 to destroy Wanderlei Silva, the only fighter to ever beat “Rampage” twice. Jackson is the UFC 96 betting favorite at -300 to come away with the win this weekend.
Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine (14-4) has been known to cause a sportsbook upset, proven by his split decision over Chuck Liddell at UFC 96. However, Jardine followed this with a terrible performance against Wanderlei Silva, ironically, who knocked Jardine out only 36 seconds into their battle at UFC 84. Jardine has a lot of talent and he’s always up for a fight, but he could be in over his head as an online betting underdog at -240.
Jackson looked like a beast in his dismantling of Silva, and with his mix of power and technique, “Rampage” was destined to be a force in the UFC, and he still is despite his recent setbacks. Jardine won’t back down, but Jackson will be too much. Bet on “Rampage” for a decisive UFC 96 betting victory.
