Oh yes it’s that time again where national teams come together in a tune before next month’s world cup qualifying.
Bias pick alert
Portugal -1 and -1.5 -120 vs Finland (Portugal -1.5 +107 at thegreek for example is ok too knock on wood)
The last time I was picking a friendly matchup, the over between Portugal and Brazilian nicely cashed. Where as recent flame outs between Portugal-Sweden, Portugal-Albania (for fuck’s sakes how do they draw 0-0 with Albania) Portugal-Denmark and even Portugal-Germany back in Euro 2008 I’ve avoided (I believe so, not 100% to lazy too look it up but I usually have a good memory on such things.)
You know why I think Portugal will win? (hopefully by two or more) Because it’s a frigging friendly. Since this game is not do or die in any way shape or form the Portuguese players are able to just play freely. Aside from their goalie there isn’t a player on the Finnish team who can play for Portugal. Plus Finland (like Portugal) have a relatively new head coach. It’s not like these Finnish players will know inside out how the coach wants each player to play within his sytem which should help Portugal break them down at some point during the game.
Come next month when World Cup Qualifiers come around I’m off Portugal again as they will tense up as a 16 year virgin (not that I have any recent experience with the latter)
Game goes off at 4pm EST I believe. Justin.tv should have a stream.
