New England (+2 ½) at NY Jets – September 19

The Jets and Pats don’t like each other, and this is an early battle for AFC East supremacy. The Jets have been getting most of the national press with their star-studded acquisitions, but they still need to prove it on the field. They get the chance Sept. 19 at home.

Baltimore (-2 ½) at Pittsburgh – October 3

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be serving his suspension for this game, which is why Baltimore is the road ‘chalk.’ The Ravens look improved this season with receiver Anquan Boldin one of the new pieces. A road win here could ultimately decide the AFC North, with the Steelers’ fans blaming ‘Big Ben.’

Washington (+5) at Philadelphia – October 3

The return of quarterback Donovan McNabb to Philly already has NFL fans talking. Eagles’ management took a big risk shipping McNabb within the division. It’s reminiscent to when New England sent Drew Bledsoe to Buffalo. That worked out for the Patriots, but McNabb could get the last laugh here.

Minnesota (+3) at Green Bay – October 24

Will he of won’t he? That’s the question everyone is still asking about Brett Favre, just the way he likes it! Favre will almost definitely return after having his mysterious ankle surgery. The Vikings are three-point underdogs for the Oct. 24 game, even though Favre swept his old squad last year. Can the Pack get revenge?

Indianapolis (+1 ½) at New England – November 21

This is always one of the ‘Games of the Year.’ These hated rivals have met the last three years in Indy, so Patriots fans are happy to be at home. Who can forget last year when Coach Bill Belichick lost the game after going for it on fourth down, deep in his own territory? We’re sure to hear about that at least 100 times before then.
