NFL Matchups – Redskins versus Cowboys, Ravens versus Steelers highlights Week Four

by Mark Bolyard on September 26, 2008

The Redskins versus Cowboys lines and Ravens versus Steelers odds haven’t been up long but there’s already some enticing handicapping to be done.

The Redskins have all of the sudden found their groove after being held to only 11 first downs in their Thursday night season-opener against the New York Giants while the Dallas Cowboys have lived up to expectations and are one of only six undefeated teams in the NFL.

Online sportsbook odds have the Cowboys as an 11-point favorite and are clearly not showing much faith in the 2-1 Redskins.

After stomping out the Green Bay Packers and beating the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, the Cowboys are now the Super Bowl favorite. Considering the Redskins were crushed in their only road game and just edged the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals at home, there isn’t much reason to invest your money into them. Bet the Cowboys to roll once again.

When making your Ravens versus Steelers pick, keep in mind that Ravens rookie quarterback Joe Flacco will be making his first career road start. Online sportsbook odds have listed the Steelers are an eight-point favorite but they have some key injuries to worry about. Running back Willie Parker, defensive tackle Casey Hampton and defensive end Brett Keisel will all miss the Monday night contest.

Bet on the Steelers because you can count on the raw Joe Flacco to make a few mistakes and put the Steelers in better field position to win the game and cover the spread.
