NCAA Betting – Pittsburgh Looking To Extend Marquette’s Slide

by on July 3, 2013

We’ve moved into the month of March, which means March Madness betting is going to be on the tip of everyone’s tongue by the end of the month.

For now, there a couple of regular season games left and college basketball betting fans can look forward to Wednesday’s card.

There will be a huge tilt in the Big East between Pittsburgh and Marquette and although both teams are ranked in the Top 25, both are heading in different directions.

The Golden Eagles have yet to win a game since losing team senior guard and team captain, Dominic James to a broken foot. He will miss the rest of the season, which is a big blow to a team that already lacked depth.

NCAAB betting handicappers who have followed Marquette throughout the season know that their margin of error was small to begin with, as their head coach Buzz Williams frequently stated, but now they have virtually no window for mistakes.

Sportsbook odds list Pittsburgh as a home favorite right now and who can blame them. The Eagles have lost two straight and head to the John M. and Gertrude E. Petersen Events Center, where the Panthers have yet to lose this season.

Pitt suffered an ugly road loss to Providence last week to lose its top ranking so it’s unlikely they will sleepwalk through another contest with a weaker foe.

The Panthers should extend Marquette’s losing streak to three games and those who are looking at March Madness betting should stay away from Marquette for the rest of the season.
