NASCAR Food City 500 Recap

Jimmie Johnson recorded his third win of the Sprint Cup season Sunday afternoon after holding off Tony Stewart on the final lap to take the checkered flag in the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Matt Kenseth finished fifth on Sunday and took over top spot in the driver standings. Kenseth now leads second place Kevin Harvick by four points.

Following Johnson and Stewart across the finish line at Bristol was Kurt Busch in third, Greg Biffle in fourth and Kenseth in fifth. Carl Edwards was sixth, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was seventh and Jamie McMurray was eighth. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 at Bristol was Kyle Busch and Jeff Burton.

The Sprint Cup Series resumes next week at Martinsville Speedway with the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500.
