NASCAR Emory Healthcare 500 Preview

NASCAR Betting at Atlanta Motor Speedway The drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will return from a one-week break on September 5 to compete in the Emory Healthcare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch won the series’ last event, the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 21. David Reutimann finished second in that race, while Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer, and Kasey Kahne rounded out the Top 5.

Ryan Newman, Juan Montoya, Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, and Matt Kenseth also picked up Top-10 results at Bristol. Jeff Gordon was 11th, Carl Edwards was 12th, Kevin Harvick was 14th, Jeff Burton was 16th, Tony Stewart was 27th, Denny Hamlin was 34th, and Jimmie Johnson was 35th.

Harvick, Gordon, Kyle Busch, Edwards, Hamlin, Stewart, Burton, Kenseth, Johnson, Kurt Busch, Biffle, and Bowyer all sit in Chase spots with two more races to go before the cut is made. McMurray sits in 13th place in the standings, 100 points back of Bowyer.

Kurt Busch won the Kobalt Tools 500 at Atlanta back in March, while Kahne took the checkered flag in the September race on the track last season. Kurt Busch has won three times at Atlanta in his Cup career, while Kahne also won on the track in 2006.

Gordon has four career wins at Atlanta, and Johnson and Edwards have three each. Stewart and Mark Martin have each won twice on the track, while Kyle Busch, Harvick, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have all won there once.

After racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will hit the track at Richmond International Raceway on September 11 for the Air Guard 400. The Chase for the Cup then starts in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire on September 19.
