NASCAR Betting – Sprint Cup Back At Daytona

by BetOnline.com on November 20, 2014

19-year-old NASCAR phenom knew he’d do it and so do the entire online sportsbook betting community, it’s just nobody thought he’d do it this way.

Logano won in the weirdest of fashions and admittedly, he wasn’t expecting to pull it off. He talked about being lost on the track but a veteran crew chief got him into place and when the rains came, he was basically saved. Had the race continued, Jeff Gordon likely would have won but instead, the rookie gets his first improbable win.

As we glance at the Daytona odds for the summer race, Gordon should be among the favorites. Among all the active drivers heading to the second Daytona race of the season, Gordon is the leader with three career wins. Overall, on restrictor plate races, Gordon is also the active leader with 12 wins. And in 16 races at Daytona, Gordon has nine Top-10’s.

The entire Hendricks team does pretty well with drafting, which mean Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin are all worth a look as well. DEI has seven wins while Martin and Johnson each have two.

Kyle Busch has a pretty good average on restrictor-plate tracks and even though he hasn’t dominated the sport like he did last year, you can’t ignore his pedigree. His average finish is 15th, which is fifth among active drivers.

Most betting management experts will avoid Logano this weekend even though he did win at Loudon. Logano got smoked at the Daytona 500, finishing dead last and even though he’ll have a boost of confidence from his most recent win, he hasn’t shown enough to be trusted.

Keep an eye on David Ragan as a sleeper pick. Ragan has five Top 10’s in 10 restrictor plate races, so he may finally break through with a win.
