GIQ WNBA Summary — Los Angeles Sparks 76, Minnesota Lynx 70

by Frisco Del Rosario on July 28, 2009

Tina Thompson had a season-high 30 points while Candace Parker made her first double-double of the year to lead Los Angeles.

It was the Sparks’ first road win against a playoff contending team.

The Lynx have lost five straight home games to the spread, and are 1-4 straight up. The only SU win was in overtime. The Sparks had lost three straight on the road, all double-digit losses, for turning the ball over 21 times per game.

In Minnesota Tuesday, the Lynx recovered or coerced 15 Los Angeles turnovers, while gathering 22 defensive rebounds.  The Sparks led in fast break points 13-7.

At 5-5, the Lynx have the worst home record among playoff contenders, but match Phoenix for best road record overall.
