From Worst to First: B.C. Lions Climb CFL Futures Board

Betting on BC Lions Football

The B.C. Lions have come out of nowhere to emerge as a force in the Canadian Football League and heading into Week 14 they’ll finally get their chance to take a share of the conference lead.

Of course their fate – playable on Bodog’s CFL odds board – isn’t entirely left to themselves. Even if the Lions take down the first-place Edmonton Eskimos on Friday afternoon, they’ll also need a Calgary Stampeders loss on Sunday.

Regardless, a victory on the night will bump B.C.’s torrid run up to six games and both Edmonton and Calgary will be hearing footsteps until somebody does something about it.

In fact, everyone will.

According to Bodog’s online sportsbook, the CFL betting community has seen B.C.’s return to prominence and taken note, the Lions have league-leading 3/1 odds of winning the Grey Cup (well, tied with Montreal).

Considering that just last month the club was in dead-last in the West Division, the Lions have dominated the CFL landscape by every measure imaginable. Can Travis Lulay and company continue to come through as the calendar shifts to October?

Though they haven’t finished first in the West since 2007, the club is just three seasons removed from a four-year stretch in which they finished 52-19. Are we witnessing the return of B.C.’s reign? You be the judge.
