jesus. one guy's a fucking socialist and the other a war-monger who picked a bimbo as a running mate like its a circus stunt. i was already voting libertarian & have been disgusted with mccain since he showed his ass by selecting palin, but that clip may have been the straw that broke the camels back insofar as my respect for obama.

mccain is a fucking fool with dumbfuck policies that will cripple the country, but at least his misguided policies are fundamentally american & capitalist (then again, so were bush's)... tough to say the same for barack.

ps -- i dont watch fox news (aka - the nutjob republican enquirer) so that clip was a bit of a shock to see just how ridiculously one-sided they were... literally snarling every time they mentioned obama like he was satan himself. its pure comedy that rag has the legal right to call itself a news channel.

We are fucked in this country no matter what...McCain is demented and I don't think as bad of Palin as you do as She uses common sense in a lot of her decisions and they are not politically bought from lobbyists at this point.. at this point that is better that what we have in McCain and Socialcrat Obama....

With Both parties we are headed to Socialist states...just depends on how quick we want to get there as to who gets in office...

i dont think terribly of palin, just that its obvious she's out of her league. lil' katie couric rattled her cage. all blather, no substance.

if bill gates called me up tonite & asked me to run the microsoft board meeting thursday, i'd fuck it up no matter how much prepping they put me through tomorrow. but because blind ambition isn't on my agenda, i might point out to mr. gates that he's a moron for asking me to do something i'm not qualified to do if he really wants to have an effective board meeting.

There seems to be just 'so little' excitement with such a big event for our country just a few nights sleep away.

That speaks volumes IMO about the faith we Americans have in either candidate.

me too. i got harrassed by my friends for it. they said i'll be helping the republican side. i said tough shit, i won't vote for anyone who doesnt have the character to publicly revise their ridiculous tax cut plans in the face of the $1 trillion in new bailout spending that has cropped up. neither candidate has done so.

it says alot about the average american voter that neither candidate can afford to speak the obvious truth and still stand a chance. this whole business has shown alot about the state of american politics and the weakness of the american people on average. its really pathetic & i'm ashamed to be a part of it.

OBAMA FIRES A 'ROBIN HOOD' WARNING SHOT

By CHARLES HURT Bureau Chief

IT'S A LEAK! Barack Obama tells Ohio plumber Joe Wurzelbacher he intends to "spread the wealth around."

WASHINGTON - You won't find it in his campaign ads, but Barack Obama let slip his plans to become a modern-day Robin Hood in the White House, confiscating money from the rich to give to the poor.

Conservatives yesterday ripped Obama after he was caught on video telling an Ohio plumber that he intends to take the profits of small-business owners and "spread the wealth around" to those with lesser incomes.

The fracas over Obama's tax plan broke out Sunday outside Toledo when Joe Wurzelbacher approached the candidate.
Wurzelbacher said he planned to become the owner of a small plumbing business that will take in more than the $250,000 amount at which Obama plans to begin raising tax rates.
"Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" the blue-collar worker asked.
After Obama responded that it would, Wurzelbacher continued: "I've worked hard . . . I work 10 to 12 hours a day and I'm buying this company and I'm going to continue working that way. I'm getting taxed more and more while fulfilling the American Dream."
"It's not that I want to punish your success," Obama told him. "I want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success, too.
Then, Obama explained his trickle-up theory of economics.
"My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."
Critics said Obama let the cat out of the bag.
"It's clear that his main goal is redistribution of wealth, not growth," said Andy Roth with the anti-tax group Club for Growth. "He's perfectly happy to destroy wealth as long as he can redistribute it."
Obama has been meticulous, Roth said, to conceal the "socialistic" nature of his tax plans. "But every once in a while, he lets it slip," he said.
Republican candidate John McCain yesterday charged that Obama's comment was telling.
"This explains how Senator Obama can promise an income-tax cut for millions who aren't even paying income taxes right now," he said in Pennsylvania.
"My plan isn't intended to force small businesses to cut jobs to pay higher taxes so we can 'spread the wealth around.' My plan is intended to create jobs and increase the wealth of all Americans."
Meanwhile, a New York Times/CBS poll last night showed Obama moving into a commanding 53-39 percent lead.

Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me'

Email
Share

October 16, 2008 2:46 AM
ABC News' Teddy Davis Reports:
John McCain may have found a blue-collar face to help him argue that no American -- not even the richest 5 percent -- should pay higher taxes.
"Joe The Plumber" has weighed in on Wednesday's presidential debate and he says that Barack Obama's tax plan "infuriates me."
"To be honest with you, that infuriates me," plumber Joe Wurzelbacher told Nightline's Terry Moran. "It's not right for someone to decide you made too much---that you've done too good and now we're going to take some of it back."
"That's just completely wrong," he added.
Wurzelbacher, who says no one from the McCain campaign got in touch with him before Wednesday, was a centerpiece of the third and final presidential debate.
The plumber's brush with fame began on Sunday when he confronted Barack Obama outside of Toledo, Ohio. Wurzelbacher challenged the Democratic candidate on his plan to raise taxes on the top five percent of earners -- a policy which would, by the Obama campaign's own estimation, mean higher taxes for 184,000 small businesses.
"I'm getting ready to buy a company that makes 250 to 280 thousand dollars a year," Wurzelbacher told Obama. "Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?"
Under Obama's plan, individuals making more than $200,000 per year, or couples making more than $250,000 per year, would pay higher taxes on income, capital gains, and dividends. Starting ten years from now, Obama supports an additional 2-4 percent tax on individual income above $250,000 per year to help shore up the Social Security system.
To evaluate how Wurzelbacher and his wife would fare under Obama, one would need to know his wife's income (if any) plus what the plumber meant when he told Obama that the company he is getting ready to buy "makes" $250,000 - $280,000 per year.
Was Wurzelbacher referring to gross revenue or net profits?
Obama's higher taxes on small businesses would be leveled against those whose net profits exceed $250,000 per year, according to Obama's campaign.
While at least 184,000 small businesses would face higher taxes under Obama, the Illinois Democrat is also proposing a series of tax credits that could aid small businesses.
Obama has proposed a $3,000 tax credit for every new job that companies create in the United States over the next two years, a small business health tax credit on up to 50 percent of employee premiums paid by employers, and elimination of capital gains taxes on investments in small and start-up businesses.
Regardless of how Wurzelbacher would personally fare under the candidates' plans, he suggested to ABC News' Nightline that he is against all forms of progressive taxation.
During his telephone interview with ABC News, the Ohio plumber argued that the government should not tax some more than others and argued that this principle should extend not only to Americans at his income-level but also to the world's richest man.
"I don't like it," said Wurzelbacher. "You know, me or -- you know, Bill Gates, I don't care who you are. If you worked for it, if it was your idea, and you implemented it, it's not right for someone to decide you made too much."
