I am very sorry to hear this. I am saddened. A few years back my girlfriends home burnt down and last year my grandmothers house was in a major flood. Both lost everything. It hurts bad. I hope you recover and I am very thankful you are still with us. Only advice I can offer is that you will get thru the emotions in time and you just have to be so happy no one lost a life. I'll ask her if there is anything she learned that may be useful and report back, Bob.

God Bless

I am so sorry to hear this GB.... I have had friends have this happen and from what I have heard you have done all you can do....just stay on the Insurance company to be sure they don't try to screw you about not giving you enough for your stuff that in there...many now want to give you depreciated Value for something instead of what it would cost to replace it..especially on computers, TV's, etc that many people don't have pictures of and/or serial numbers....

I am glad everyone is safe and please keep us updated

Only advice I received was to be able and do your best to write down your items [EVERYTHING] and their value albeit a tough task putting a price on many personal items. They only had renters insurance though and not homeowners so maybe a little different. Reiterated the most important thing is no one was hurt. Best of luck to you and your family, Bob.

thank you very much for the kind words, i've always considered everybody on gamblingiq to be class acts and it was proven here.
our insurance company (american family) has two suites for us in a decent hotel, so my wife, son, two dogs and myself are comfortable. the hotel abuts on canterbury park, a t'bred racetrack (season started) with a large poker room. we should be here from about 4-6 weeks while the house is being repaired. everything is being taken care of so except some bouts of boredom, everything is ok.thanks again for the support.
