Default teaser bet?

Recently I start reading some articles about online football bets.

What is your opinion about teaser bet? Rarely I've read anything about this from this forum, that makes me feel that's -EV bet, doesn't it?

I have heard many times that teaser bets in college football are not your best options. Myself, I have stayed away from them over the years.

second time typing this to you, damn you dirty.

typically teasers are a sucker bet (especially when you are picking more than 2 teams) it's hard enough to pick one winner let alone 2 or more. the advantage of a teaser is getting more or giving less points but the disadvantages out weigh the advantages. over time the inflated vig will eat into your profits and your winning percentage will have to be 53% or better to break even.

if you ask any veteran gambler they will tell you teasers are a useful tool to hedge 2 wagers, in my younger days i would do this and my experience has alwasy been a teaser will typically break you even when one of your staright wagers misses the spread (minus vig).

from being involved in sites like this one i have realized it's important to belong to a couple good sites like this one. read the boards, ask questions, interject and most important: post your own plays and keep your own year long record. You can learn alot from these boards but by keeping your own record you will learn alot about yourself and your own abilities or inabilities. Getting the best # whether early or later, paying attention to steam, other capper's picks and these forums is the best advice i can give you.

good luck richard
