BOL on all of em, Cooper and hopefully your bowl season will be as good as your reg seaon.
I should have all of my college football bowl game picks up this week. Not that anyone really cares, but I've had several IM's, PM's, and emails asking when I was going to post my picks so I figured I'd go ahead and make a thread.
Hopefully, I'll have all of my bowl game picks by the end of this week by the 19th. I may add a couple later on if things change but I've been working on them here and there and placed quite a few already but I haven't had enough time to get them all together with any info for here quite yet...

Good Luck Coop
Cooper,
1. Would you bet hard on any of these games? Which one?
2. If you must gamble, between TCU and Boise, who would you pick?
3. Now you're done with your picking, hopefully you have some free time for me. For the next season, especially the first few games, how would you pick your games? What are factors you will look into to make your decisions?
4. Do you bet on NFL?
3-0 so far coop. you made my christmas very happy. merry christmas and a and happy new year and thanks for posting.![]()
Thanks Junk!
Sorry, I didn't see your reply until now.
1. I bet them all the same except Wake, Oklahoma State, and Florida, which I bet a little bigger.
2. Hindsight is 20/20, but I put had a small play on TCU for entertainment purposes :)
3. I will play my games the same way next year. I couldn't possibly detail everything that goes into my picks but I look at which team has the most talent.
4. Which team has a difference maker that can't be accounted for and why and how will he be taken advantage of?
5. Who wins the line of scrimmage both sides?
6. Will special teams make a difference in field position?
7. What kind of game will it be? Lot's of passing and clock stoppages or control the ball and run the clock?
8. What is the attitude of the coach and the players in this game--is it a rivalry game, will the coach try and run it up, things like that?
9. What will the crowd be like and what kind of stadium emotion will there be?
10. Also, is it a conference game? What do these teams know about each other? More importantly, what do you KNOW about them?
That's ten things I consider not in any order and certainly not in their entirety and I probably left off quite a bit but that was from the hip.
Typically, I know right away if I'm NOT betting a game. I usually look at the board and say no, no, no, no, maybe, no, no, no, maybe, maybe, maybe. Then I take all the maybe's and start to break them down. Once I have a list of games I want to bet on I decide whether to pare the list down further or not. That depends on how many games I'm playing.
Then I look and see, which games do I know more about? The games that I know the least about I leave off whether I like them more than some of the others or not. That's because even though I may like it more, I may not be as knowledgeable about it. For instance I can tell you about the defensive linemen in the big 12. What year are they, what are their strengths, maybe where they are from, etc. Skill players are easy. Everyone knows who plays quarterback for Baylor for instance. But do you know anything about the guy protecting his backside? Kind of important if you're putting money on the game.
I didn't used to care about that kind of stuff, but that was me losing money. This is me...NOT losing money. I like it this way better.
Of course, I play a lot more games than I post here. The difference is those other games I play aren't for any amounts of money I would consider significant. For instance putting 35 dollars on TCU to cover is not what I would consider betting on football.
I do play NFL games but not very often and not for any real money. Usually it's about the same amount as one of my "because it's on TV" bets. And I'll tell you this, you could make about as much money betting against me on those games as you could betting on me on the games play and post. I'm exaggerating, but my win percentage on those games is not near what it is on these.
Good to hear Ron! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well. Hopefully we'll continue to be on the right side!

Thank you Cooper.
Merry Christmas to every one.

Great start. Any insight you can provide on the OSU pick would be appreciated.
I'll try and write more tomorrow afternoon but a lot of it is how I feel they matchup with Oregon. I see Oregon a little like Baylor with more depth and slightly better talent.
Oregon's quarterback compares pretty well to Baylor's quarterback. He's not near as fast, but he has the same style.
Oklahoma State's offensive line is a big advantage going their way, as well as special teams. OSU's punter won the Ray Guy award (though if you watched the Groza winner punt for FSU the other night you might think that kid deserves both kicking awards) so he's very effective when OSU needs to punt. Dez Bryant is 3rd in the nation in punt returns and Perrish Cox is 3rd in the nation in kickoff returns.
The battle for field position is one that I believe they will win. I also believe that they will control the tempo of the game and will be able to run the ball effectively.
You can't double team Dez Bryant and still cover Brandon Pettigrew (who will surely be the first TE picked in the NFL draft) and not either leave another WR open or you will not be able to stop All American Kendall Hunter from having a field day running the ball.
Oklahoma State is not going to do anything complicated in the passing game. It'll likely be option number one or number two, and then take off running, however if they try to double cover Bryant and cheat to help with Pettigrew they will take what is given to them.
OSU is coming into the game healthy but without three backups due to grades. Terrance Anderson is the key part that will hinder them some defensively.
Well, I gotta go so I don't have time to get to things that concern me, mainly Oklahoma State's speed at linebacker or lack thereof, their kickoff coverage, and a couple of other things, but I will try and address those tomorrow.
I like OSU by 17 in a fairly high scoring game...early on.

Good Stuff Coop BOL![]()
Thanks Cooper. Good info.
Cooper thanks for the picks this year i made $$$$$$$$$$ with them![]()
Thanks man. 6-3 in bowls with one game left.
Really still bothered about the Oklahoma State game. Bryant gets hurt, A late hit on the OSU quarterback which tore dislocated his shoulder, were pretty enough to change the game completely. Oklahoma Should have had two more touchdowns and a HUGE lead before halftime. That's why you play the game though. Despite the loss of Bryant who had 9 catches and 110 yards when he got injured in the first half and the quarterback playing seriously hurt the rest of the game, they still had the ball down three with 5 minutes left in the game and could not make it happen. Oregon was a good team with the better defense but they win that game 2, maybe 3 out of 10 in my opinion.
Anyway, it is what it is.
Good luck with the rest of your plays!
