Types of Sports Bets

Straight Bets - A straight bet (a.k.a. "side") is one of the most common forms of sports betting where you pick in advance which team will win the game. For baseball, you bet on which team will win the game outright.
For basketball or football, there will generally be a point spread as part of the bet. If the number is positive (+), then you add the points to your team's score. If the number is negative (-), then subtract those points from your team's score. The side with the higher score after the points are applied is the winner.

Totals - When you bet on totals, you are betting on whether the total points scored in the game will be higher or lower than the posted total.

Parlays - A parlay is a group of straight bets or totals combined into one bet. For the parlay to be a winner, all of the individual parts of the parlay need to win. You can mix different sports on the same parlay.
Open-parlays are available for phone wagering. In this option you may choose to leave one or more selections in your parlay "open". You can call at a later time to fill in the spots on that parlay if it is still pending (no losers on the parlay).

Teasers - A teaser is a group of straight bets or totals combined into one bet. The difference between a parlay and a teaser is that with a teaser, the line you bet against for each individual wager is moved to your favor by the number of points of the teaser. If the regular line is -10 and you have a 6-point teaser, then your line would be -4.
As with a parlay, all of the individual parts need to win for the teaser to be a winner. Teasers are not yet available for baseball or hockey.

Pleasers - A pleaser is a group of football and/or basketball side straight bets combined into one bet. The difference between a pleaser and a teaser is that with a pleaser, the line you bet against for each individual wager is moved against your favor from 6-7½ points. If the regular line is -10 and you play a 6-point pleaser, then your line would be -16.
6 Point Pleaser Examples: Lines:
Dallas is (-3) over Washington
Pittsburgh is (-8) over Cleveland

A "Two team 6 point Pleaser" on Dallas and Pittsburgh would be as follows:
Dallas (-9)
Pittsburgh (-14)

A "Two team 6 point Pleaser" on Washington and Cleveland would be like this:
Washington (-3)
Cleveland (+2)

If-Bets (Win Only)
An If-Bet is a wager that carries over to a second team if the player wins on his/her initial selection. For example, the player has to wager a fixed amount on one selection. If that selection wins, then another fixed amount, up to the payout amount of the subsequent wager, can be placed on a new selection.
The player must win his/her first wager in order to continue the action on the remaining wagers. If the first wager loses or pushes, there is no subsequent action. As each selection wins, there will be action on the following wager. There may be up to 15 selections in one If-Bet. Correlation restrictions for If-Bets are the same as they are for parlays.
If-Bet Win Only Examples: Example One:
Place a fixed wager on the St. Louis Rams (-7, -110) for $220 to win $200.
If the Rams win, a fixed wager, up to the payout amount of the previous wager may be placed on the next selection. The subsequent wager may risk up to the previous payout of $420.
A wager on the Detroit Lions (-3 -110) for $330 to win $300 is placed.
If the Lions also win, the player would collect winnings on both wagers with a total profit of $500.
Example Two:
Place a fixed wager on the St. Louis Rams (-7, -110) for $220 to win $200.
If the Rams win, a fixed wager, up to the payout amount of the previous wager may be placed on the next selection. The subsequent wager may risk up to the previous payout of $420.
A wager on the Detroit Lions (-3 -110) for $330 to win $300 is placed.
If the Lions selection loses, the player would collect winnings on the Rams (+$200) and lose (-$330) on the Lions.
Example Three:
Place a fixed wager on the St. Louis Rams (-7, -110) for $220 to win $200.
If the Rams lose, any further selections after the Rams selection will be "No Action". The player would lose only (-$220) on the first wager.
If-Bets (Win and Push)
Same as If-Bets (win only) except action is taken on same team if team wins OR PUSHES in initial wager up to the original amount.
If-Bets Win & Push Example: Example One:
Place a fixed wager on the St. Louis Rams to win with spread of (-7).
If the Rams win or PUSH, a fixed wager, up to the original amount, is placed on the Detroit Lions to win with spread of (-3).
In the event of a push in initial game, If Detroit wins, player would win $100.00. If Detroit would lose, player would lose $110.00.

Rolling If Bets
A Rolling If Bet (RIF) is a straight, parlay or teaser wager made contingent on the outcome of a previously placed wager that is still pending. The pending wager can be a wager on an event that is in progress or it can be a wager on an event that has yet to begin. The pending wager can not be an existing IF Bet, Reverse, or any play with an open leg (Parlay or Teaser), or any Horseplay or a Free Play. You can only make a RIF from a Straight Bet, a Teaser or a Parlay.
How to place a RIF
Once logged into the sportsbook, select Straight, Parlay or Teaser from the sportsbook-wagering menu. The RIF is only available if you select one of these menu items.
Make your Straight, Parlay or Teaser selections.
Once you have made your wagering selections, a wager a screen will appear and display the “show Rolling-If Bet options” button.
After selecting the Rolling If-Bet Options a window showing all of your eligible pending wagers will display:
Caution! If you only enter the Risk or Win amount, and fail to select a pending wager, the wager will not be considered a rolling if bet. It will be considered a straight, parlay or teaser, depending on your original selection.
Rolling If Bet (RIF) Rules
When you make a Rolling IF Bet (RIF) from a Parlay that contains a Baseball side, and that side was placed using Action for the pitching, you can only use the amount you are laying on the first Parlay for the second bet. If, on the other hand, the Baseball side was placed using listed pitchers (or a Run-Line or a Total), you can have the proceeds from the first bet (the lay and any winnings) placed on the second bet.
If you have a Parlay or Teaser and any of the entries tie, the amount available for the RIF is the amount you lay, plus any winnings. If you lay an amount greater than this amount on your RIF, to assume that all entries will win, you will have no action on the RIF.
"RIF Wagers" & "Filling in spots on open-parlays" cannot be done when attempting to attach a team from the same series to a previous winning selection from that series. This includes: baseball selections from the same 3 or 4 game series, NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs, or any other event played in a series of games. A choice had to be made with the setup to either offer series winner prices in parlays or completely block series prices in all parlays in order to allow wagers from the same series to be hooked in RIF and open-parlays. This decision is final and will not be changed.

Round Robin
Easily turn your parlay or teaser into a Round Robin. A Round Robin bet is a method to box a parlay or teaser. 5Dimes automatically calculates the combinations for you. A "Round Robin with 2's, 3's" would include all the possible two team and three team parlays which can be made with all the current selections. The risk amount entered will be the desired risk amount on each individual combination created.
How to place a Round Robin bet
Once logged into the sportsbook, select Parlay or Teaser from the sportsbook-wagering menu. The Round Robin is only available if you select one of these menu items.
Make your Parlay or Teaser selections.
Verify your selections. Below the selections, you may change your “Single Parlay” into your desired “Round Robin.”
Once you have selected your desired Round Robin, you will be asked to enter a risk amount.
A screen showing your wagers will appear. Please verify your selections then Submit.
To check the status of your wager, simply click "Pending Wagers" in the 5Dimes toolbar.

Reverses
A reverse bet is a series of IF bets going both forward and in reverse order. Each team included in the reverse bet will pair with the other team in order to form two IF bets.
For Example: (using Football and Baseball): The First Part:
Philadelphia Eagles -8 $110 to win $100 Double Action (If win, push, no action, or cancelled)
Then
Cleveland Indians (-175) Risk $110 to win $63
Second Part:
Cleveland Indians (-175) $110 to win $63 Double Action (If win, push, no action, or cancelled)
Then
Philadelphia Eagles -8 Risk $110 to win $100
Total risk- $220 (maximum risk) to win $326
Possible outcomes:
If the Eagles and the Indians both win, you will win $163 on the first part of the wager and $163 on the reverse part, for total winnings of $326.
If the Eagles win and the Indians lose, you will lose $10 on the first part of the wager and $110 on the reverse part, for total losses of $120.
If the Indians win and the Eagles lose, you will lose $110 on the first part of the wager and $47 on the reverse part, for total losses of $157.
If one team pushes, is no action, or is cancelled and the other team is a loss, you will lose $220.
If one team pushes, is no action, or is cancelled and the other team wins, you will either win $126 (63+63) for the Indians or $200 for the Eagles (100+100).

Sports Bet Payoffs

5Dimes offers several different ways to bet on sporting events, and with every wager there's the possibility of a different amount of payoff. The following helps explain the payoff system for each type of bet offered at the 5Dimes Sportsbook, and gives an informative and easy to understand explanation how each payoff works:
Straight Bets - For football and basketball the payoff is $100 for every $110 wagered unless otherwise noted. It is customary when making a bet that you put up the juice as part of your wager. Therefore, $110 will be wagered if you specify a $100 straight bet.
For sports involving no point spread (such as baseball or boxing), the money line (ML) determines the payoff. If the money line is a negative number, then you wager the amount of the money line for each $100 of your bet. For example, if the money line is -135, then you would wager $135 to win your $100 bet. If the money line is a positive number, then you will wager $100 to win the money line. For example, if the money line is +125, then you would wager $100 to win $125.
When entering an ML wager using the "base" amount, always enter the amount you wish to WIN when wagering on a favorite (negative number), and enter the amount you wish to RISK when wagering on an underdog (positive number). You also may choose to "risk" or "win" a specific amount regardless of whether you are wagering on a favorite or an underdog.
Totals - For football and basketball the payoff for a winner is $100 for every $110 wagered unless otherwise noted. It is customary when making a bet that you put up the juice as part of your wager. Therefore, $110 will be wagered if you specify a $100 total bet.
For baseball totals, the total points seldom move. Instead, applying a money line to the total creates line moves. Therefore, your payoff will depend on the money line at the time of the wager.
Parlays - Parlay wager payoffs depend on how many teams are selected and the odds on those teams. Payoffs for football and basketball at odds of -110 are shown in the table below. If there is a tie in one or more of your individual parts, then the wager steps down to the next lower number of teams.
You may choose your "risk" or "win" amount on each parlay played, with a minimum risk and win amount on a parlay. If a two-team parlay has a tie and a winner, then the parlay pays off at straight wager odds on the winning selection.

Teasers - Teaser wager payoffs depend on how many teams are selected and how many points are given to each team. Payoffs for football and basketball teasers are shown in the tables below. If there is a tie in one or more of your individual parts, then the wager steps down to the next lower number of teams. If a two-team teaser has a tie and a winner, then the teaser pushes, "No Action."
If a two-team teaser has a tie and a loser, the teaser loses. You may have your account set up for "Vegas" teaser rules (a tie and a loser = a TIE). By choosing this option, the account will not be eligible for bonuses of any kind. Only teasers played AFTER choosing this option will apply for the "Vegas" rules. Not all accounts will be eligible for this rule change.
5Dimes reserves the right to change teaser payouts on an individual account at any time without prior notice.

Rules for Sports Wagering

With the enormous amount of events to bet on at the 5Dimes, it's important to understand that each sport can be unique when it comes to wagering. The following highlights wagering rules for the particular sports available to bet on at the 5Dimes Sportsbook.
Sports wagers may range from a minimum of $1 to a maximum of $5,000. 5Dimes reserves the right to reduce or exceed these limits at any time on any wager.
The maximum payout on a parlay, teaser, IF wager, or RIF chain is $250,000. With prior approval, accounts may be tagged for unlimited parlay payouts on all selections. By choosing this option, the account will not be eligible for any bonuses.
Proposition bets must have all participants involved in wager play for action. Routine starting players must start the game for action.
Non-runners in match-ups between a player and "the field" in any tournament will be graded no action unless otherwise specified.
All wagers placed on events with obvious erroneous lines resulting from human error will be graded no action. It is the sole discretion of 5Dimes regarding the partial/complete voiding of parlays, teasers, and IF wagers when a play includes a selection with a line error.
Only points scored AFTER half-time count on 2nd half wagers.
Overtime period or extra inning scoring is included in the total when wagering on total scores. Overtime period scoring is included in the second half for half-time wagers.
All team sporting events must be played on the dates scheduled unless otherwise specified. If an event is postponed and/or rescheduled, that event will automatically constitute "NO ACTION." Soccer events must be played within two days of the original date scheduled.
Tennis, golf, boxing, and auto racing must be completed within one week of the scheduled event date to have action (unless otherwise noted).
Regardless of team name changes or relocation, all teams have action in futures wagers.
The limit amount listed at the top of the page for each futures option is the maximum that may be risked over the Internet without prior managerial approval.
Multiple wagers at the same odds, which exceed each individual wagering option limit, will be voided at managerial discretion.
The winner of an event or game will be determined on the date of the event or game's conclusion according to house rules. 5Dimes does not recognize suspended games, protests, overturned decisions, etc., for wagering purposes.
The home team is listed as the bottom team unless otherwise specified. Neutral site games may have the teams listed in any random order. Switching of teams in the listings is no grounds for the voiding of any selections.
In the event an account reaches a negative balance due to the re-grade of an event, all in-progress pending wagers will stand and be honored. Since winning wagers in this instance will be honored, immediate settlement of losing wagers is also expected.
Customers are responsible for settling all negative accounts. "Ignorance", "I wouldn't have made that last bet if I knew my balance would have been negative", or "It's not my fault the wager was graded wrong", will not be accepted as excuses for non-settlement of negative balances.
5Dimes reserves the right to void any bets which are not in progress, retroactively from the last wager entered, until a player balance is no longer negative. Players will be notified via e-mail prior to an event starting of any such decisions.
At managerial discretion, correlated parlays will be voided or split into separate straight wagers with the parlay risk amount divided equally. Parlays on correlated events include: Multiple selections on the same team/player in the same event, multiple selections against the same team/player in the same event, or any other combination where one event directly affects further selections in the parlay. Players will never be given the benefit if there is any doubt regarding intentions of correlated parlays. No warnings will be given.
In a "dead heat", the wagered amount on a selection is divided by the number of selections involved in the dead heat. The full odds are then paid the divided stakes. The remainder of the stake is a loser.
You must be at least 18 years old to set up an account, place bets, or collect winnings.
By placing a wager using 5Dimes Internet software, the customer agrees to all of the rules and polices posted on this Website.
All rules, regulations, and payoffs contained herein are subject to change and revision by 5Dimes without prior notice. Standard Las Vegas rules apply to any rule or wager not covered by the rules and regulations herein.
Football Wagering
Concluded professional and college football games are official after 55 minutes of play.
The official time of scoring plays for grading purposes is the time on the clock AFTER the score is made.
Basketball Wagering
Concluded NBA games are official after 43 minutes of play.
Concluded College basketball games are official after 35 minutes of play.
Overtime is included in all game and 2nd half wagers.
NBA first & next 6-minute wagering results are determined from NBA.com game logs.
A basket at exactly the 6:00 mark is deemed to have been scored within the first 6 minutes.
NCAA first & next 10-minute results are determined from recorded tapes of television broadcasts. The ball must be completely through the cylinder and net before 9:59 remaining for a basket to be official in the first 10 minutes of a half.
Fourth quarter wagers do not include overtime unless otherwise noted.
Baseball Wagering
Baseball game moneyline and first 5 inning wagers have the following pitcher options:
Listed Pitchers: Both listed pitchers must start for moneyline wagers to have action. You have no action if either or both pitchers do not start the game. All baseball total and run-line wagers are listed pitchers only.
List One Pitcher: The pitcher you specify must start for moneyline wagers to have action. You have no action if your specified pitcher does not start the game. If the pitcher opposing your selected pitcher is changed, the moneyline price will be computed with revised odds based on the new pitcher. This wagering option is available only over the phone.
Action: All moneyline wagers have action. However, if there is a pitching change, the moneyline price will be computed with revised odds based on the new pitchers.
Baseball games are considered official after 5 innings of play (4½ if the home team is winning). If a game is called or suspended after 5 innings, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning of play - unless the home team scores to tie or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning. The winner is then determined by the score at the time the game is called. When betting on baseball totals or run-lines, the game must go 9 innings (8½ if the home team is winning).
First 5 inning lines are graded at the end of the 5th inning. All 5-inning wagers have action at that time, regardless whether the game is completed. The following propositions have action at the time they occur, regardless whether the game is completed or official: 1st 5 inning wagers, team to score first, 1st inning wagers or any wager involving a team or player to achieve an outcome first. The following propositions will be graded NO ACTION if a game does not go 8½-9 innings and is an official completed game on that day: team statistical match-ups, player match-ups (including total bases), team total runs, H-R-E wagers, or any wager involving an over/under format.
Both players must START for action in total base wagering. Single=1 point, Double=2 points, Triple=3 points, HR=4 points, (Walks & Stolen Bases do not count). Player with the most points in the game is the winner.
Regular season series wagers have action as long as a minimum of two games are completed. Only the first three games of any series count for wagering purposes. Once a team wins two games in a series, the series will be graded at that time.
Pitcher strikeout props are for strikeouts thrown only unless otherwise noted.
Any baseball, softball, or little league game ending early as a result of a mercy rule will have action on all wagers (unless otherwise noted).
The Baseball Grand Salami has no action if any game is rained out or final in less than 8½ innings.
NCAA baseball, NCAA softball, and youth league tournament games have action regardless of their starting/completion date.
Hockey Wagering
Concluded hockey games are official after 55 minutes of play (includes outright and 60 minute wagering).
Third period lines in hockey DO NOT include overtime.
In the NHL, the winner in overtime or shootout is credited with a goal. This goal counts towards the final score for grading purposes.
The final score in hockey for the international leagues does NOT include overtime. Overtime and shoot-outs do not count unless the wagering option (OUTRIGHT) or (ADVANCES) is listed.
Golf Wagering
Four and five round golf events must go a minimum of 54 holes and three round golf events must go a minimum of 36 holes for tournament match-ups and futures to have action.
Golf events must be completed within 7 days of the scheduled conclusion of the event for tournament match-ups and futures to have action.
Adjusted tournament winner wagers have no action if no further golf is played because of a shortened event.
In match-ups and futures, wagers on golfers NOT teeing off to begin an event will be graded no action unless otherwise noted.
Wagers on golfers NOT teeing off in 2nd, 3rd, 4th round, or adjusted tournament match-ups, will be graded no action.
All round match-ups have action regardless of the date the golfers begin/complete the round.
Any single round matchup where it is determined golfers are playing on different courses for that round will be graded no action.
The golfer to complete more holes in a tournament or single round match-up is the winner. If golfers both complete the same number of holes, the golfer with the lower score is the winner.
A golf round is not official until the player's scorecard is signed at the end of a round. If a player is disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard, the player will be considered withdrawn on the hole with the scoring dispute. All holes completed prior to the scoring discrepancy will count for wagering purposes.
A golf match-up may have a stroke handicap. If the number is positive (+), then you subtract the strokes from the golfer's score. If the number is negative (-), then add those strokes to the golfer's score. The golfer with the lower score after the strokes are applied is the winner.
"Two on One" match-ups involve two golfers' scores being matched up against a single golfer's score. Rules for regular match-ups apply to determine the winner. The lone golfer must defeat both paired golfers' individual scores to win the wager. If the lone golfer and the best individual score from the paired group is a tie, then the wager is a push. Only one of the paired golfers needs to defeat the lone golfer to win the wager.
"Tournament Handicap" odds involve giving a specific stroke bonus to each golfer in a grouping of golfers. At the conclusion of the tournament, the strokes indicated are credited to each golfer's score. The golfer with the lowest score after the stroke handicap is applied to all the golfers is the winner. All scheduled holes must be played for the tournament handicap to have action. Each golfer must complete all scheduled holes to be eligible to win.
Auto Racing Wagering
All match-ups have action after both drivers have crossed the start/finish line at the beginning of the race. Formation and/or warm-up laps are not considered for betting purposes.
The driver to win bets must have 60% of the racing field start the race for action. Wagering options with multiple winners must have 80% of the racing field start the race for action.
All wagers are graded immediately at a race's conclusion. Unofficial results at that time are used for grading purposes. Official results reflect disqualifications and position penalties that are not recognized for wagering purposes.
A match-up involving both drivers exiting a Formula 1 race on the same lap will be graded as no action.
If an alternate driver replaces a driver during a race, the new driver replaces the old driver in all match-ups, propositions, and futures wagers. The new driver's finishing position is credited to the old driver.
If a driver's name and car number do not match due to an error or number change, action will be given based on the driver's name.
A driver vs. driver match-up may have a position handicap. If the number is positive (+), then you subtract that number of positions from that driver's finishing position. If the number is negative (-), then add that number of positions to that driver's finishing position. The driver with the lower finishing position after the handicap is applied is the winner.
"Two on One" match-ups involve two drivers being matched up against a single driver in a race. For the lone driver to win, the lone driver must finish the race ahead of both paired drivers. For the paired drivers to win, only one of the paired drivers needs to finish ahead of the lone driver.
Soccer Wagering
Soccer events must be played within two days of the original date scheduled to have action.
Unless otherwise specified, all soccer wagers are official on the result at full time (90 minutes of play + referee stoppage time). Matches abandoned before full time is completed will be graded no action.
Moneylines are also official at full time. Overtime and shoot-outs do not count unless the wagering option (OUTRIGHT) or (ADVANCES) is listed.
Soccer events include three options: Team A wins, Team B wins, or a Draw. When wagering on the moneyline with three options, you must have the selected option be correct for your wager to be a winner. If you select Team B and the event ends in a Draw, your selection on Team B is a loser. In essence, selections on a specific team in three-option wagering, is the same as having that team -½ a goal.
Halftime/Fulltime wagering involves predicting both a game's halftime result and fulltime result. The abbreviation for halftime is listed "HT." The abbreviation for fulltime is listed "FT." When predicting a team to be leading at either halftime or fulltime, a tie score is a LOSING wager. The only winning wager for a tied score at halftime or fulltime is "DRAW."
Tennis Wagering
Wagers have action once a ball is served, regardless of the date the match/event is started or completed. Matches delayed by rain, darkness, or other circumstances will not be voided. These matches will remain pending until their completion.
A "Walk Over Winner" (player concedes before a match) and matches which do not complete the first set are graded no action. Any match concluding after the first set is completed will be graded with the advancing player as the winner.
First set proposition wagering has action if the first set is completed. Other props involving the match are no action if a participant resigns/concedes during a match. The moneyline on the match itself is the only wagering option that is not considered a prop.
Boxing & MMA Wagering
Fights must take place within one week of the listed date of the fight or the bout will be graded "no action" (unless otherwise noted). Venue changes within the same country will not affect the status of pending wagers. Venue changes to a different country will result in a grade of "no action" on all pending wagers.
If the number of scheduled rounds in a fight is changed, the following wagers will have action: the fight winner, fighter wins only, and draw options. "fight totals" & "will go / won't go" will have action if the updated scheduled rounds is more than the total listed on the prop. Exact round of ending, fighter to win inside distance, win by decision, and goes distance props will all be no action if scheduled rounds are changed or misposted.
Results will be graded/regraded based on the official result at ringside. A result may be revised or altered after initial presentation by the ring announcer. Results are not official for wagering purposes until verified by officials at the fighting venue. Official or unofficial sanctioning body overturns of a fight decision based on appeal, suspension, lawsuit, drug testing result, or any other fighter sanction will not be recognized for wagering purposes.
A wager on a fighter "Inside Distance" wins if the selected fighter wins by KO, TKO, DQ, or technical decision.
A wager on a fighter to win by "KO" wins if the selected fighter wins by KO, TKO, or DQ.
When a "draw" occurs, wagers on both fighters "to win" are refunded. Other proposition wagers are graded according to their specific wording.
An "If Wins Only" wager loses when a fight ends in a draw.
Any fight that is deemed "no contest" will have all wagers refunded.
A wager on a fighter winning in rounds 10-12 is a loser if the fight goes the distance.
A fighter wins by "Unanimous Decision" when all three judges score him as the winner.
A fighter wins by "Split-Decision" when two judges score him as the winner and one judge scores the other fighter as the winner.
A fighter wins by "Majority Decision" when two judges score him as the winner and one judge scores the fight a draw.
A fight is a "Unanimous Draw" when all three judges score the fight as a draw.
A fight is a "Split-Decision Draw" when one judge scores the fight a draw, one judge scores the fight for one fighter, and one judge scores the fight for the other fighter.
A fight is a "Majority Draw" when two judges score the fight a draw and one judge scores the fight for either of the two fighters.
A fight is a "Technical Draw" when a fight ends before an allotted number of rounds (between four to six rounds, depending on sanctioning body rules) usually because of an accidental head-butt.
A total listed on a fight represents the total number of completed rounds. The halfway point of a round is at exactly one minute and thirty seconds into a three minute round. Thus, 4½ rounds would be one minute and thirty seconds of the 5th round. The halfway point of a two minute round is at the one minute mark. The halfway point of a five minute round is at the two minutes and thirty seconds mark.
If an over/under boxing total lands on the exact half round total in a fight, the wager will be a push. If the phrase "Fight goes 1:30 round X", and the fight ends at exactly that second of that round, then "Fight goes" will be graded the winner.
In round distance wagering, if a fighter fails to answer the bell for the start of any round, the fight officially ended in the last round fought. In total wagering, if a fighter does not answer the bell to start a round where the fight has gone the exact distance listed on the total, the UNDER is the winner.
Fight Distance Example: Tyson/Lewis total rounds are listed as 6 rounds.
Tyson fails to answer the bell to start the 7th round.
The fight officially ends in the 6th round.
The proposition would have UNDER as the winner.
A round is not complete until a fighter starts the following round.
In points wagering handicap bets, any fighter winning before the fight goes its scheduled distance is the winner. If the fight completes all scheduled rounds, then the cumulative score of all three judges' scorecards will be used. The cumulative score for each fighter will have the point-spread handicap applied to determine the winner. A technical draw will be graded as "no action."
Points Wagering Handicap Example: Tyson points handicap +18.5.
Lewis points handicap -18.5.
If either fighter wins by KO, TKO, DQ, or technical decision, that fighter wins the handicap regardless of the scoring at the time of the stoppage.
The fight completes all scheduled rounds with judges'
scores of Lewis 117-111, Lewis 118-109, Lewis 115-113.
The cumulative score for Lewis is 117+118+115 = 350.
The cumulative score for Tyson is 111+109+113 = 333.
Tyson would win the wager based on the application of the 18.5-point handicap to his cumulative score.
Other Sports Wagering
The final score in bandy, handball, and water polo does NOT include overtime. Overtime and shoot-outs do not count unless the wagering option (OUTRIGHT) or (ADVANCES) is listed.
Point Buying
Buying points moves the point spread in your favor by the number of points purchased. Customers may buy half points on football and basketball game sides and totals only. First half and half-time point buying is not available. Each half point purchased increases in cost for each additional point. The maximum point buy ranges from 10 to 20 points based on the league and sport.
The number "3" and "7" in the football are key numbers. It costs extra to buy on and off these numbers. The amount of the extra cost will vary from league to league.
Stock Market Wagering
"DOW UP TODAY" and "DOW DOWN TODAY" wagering involves choosing if the net change in the DOW Jones Industrial Average will be positive or negative.
