Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Tigers close out their series against the Mariners, the Cards battle the Brewers, and the CFL wraps up its opening weekend.

Meeting up on the diamond . . .

The American League schedule for Sunday features Oakland at Cleveland, Toronto at the Yankees, Baltimore at Boston, Tampa Bay at Minnesota, the White Sox at Texas, Kansas City at the Angels, and Seattle at Detroit. Cliff Lee (7-3, 2.45 ERA) will take to the mound for the Mariners on Sunday against the Tigers’ Jeremy Bonderman (4-5, 4.36 ERA). Lefthander Lee went the full nine innings for the third straight time in his last start, beating the Yankees by giving up three earned runs on eight hits. Righthander Bonderman pulled out a win against the Twins in his last trip to the mound despite giving up four earned runs on nine hits over just 5 1-3 innings pitched.

Meanwhile, the National League on Sunday offers up Philadelphia at Pittsburgh, the Mets at Washington, Florida at Atlanta, Cincinnati at the Cubs, San Francisco at Colorado, Houston at San Diego, the Dodgers at Arizona, and Milwaukee at St. Louis. The Brewers are expected to send Yovani Gallardo (8-3, 2.56 ERA) to the mound for Sunday’s game, with the Cardinals countering with Adam Wainwright (11-5, 2.34 ERA). Righthander Gallardo picked up his second straight win last time out, holding the Astros to four runs over his six innings of work. Righthander Wainwright blanked the Diamondbacks over 6 1-3 innings last time out, giving up just five hits in the game.

Rounding out the Roundup . . .

Finally, the first week of the Canadian Football League’s schedule wraps up on Sunday, with British Columbia at Edmonton. The oddsmakers like the home side in this one, setting the Eskimos as the 4-point favorites with the total for the game at 54.
