Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Tigers play host to the Rangers, the Giants send their ace out against the Dodgers, and the Storm look for a victory in San Antonio.

Meeting up on the diamond . . .

The American League schedule for Tuesday offers up Tampa Bay at Baltimore, the Angels at the Yankees, Cleveland at Minnesota, Toronto at Kansas City, Boston at Oakland, the White Sox at Seattle, and Texas at Detroit. The Rangers are expected to go with Tommy Hunter (6-0, 2.39 ERA) in that Tuesday matchup, while the Tigers counter with Armando Galarraga (3-2, 4.45 ERA). Righthander Hunter beat the Red Sox in his last trip to the mound, giving up just two runs over 6 2-3 innings of work. Righthander Galarraga took a no-decision against the Orioles last time out, surrendering three runs on 10 hits over 6 2-3 innings. Galarraga fanned four that game.

Over in the National League on Tuesday it’ll be Milwaukee at Pittsburgh, Colorado at Florida, Washington at Cincinnati, San Diego at Atlanta, Houston at the Cubs, the Mets at Arizona, Philadelphia at St. Louis, and San Francisco at the Dodgers. Tim Lincecum (10-4, 2.94 ERA) will get the ball for the Giants in that last matchup, while Clayton Kershaw (9-5, 3.16 ERA) takes the hill for Los Angeles. Righthander Lincecum dazzled the Mets in his most recent start, tossing nine shutout innings while giving up just six hits and striking out five batters. Lefthander Kershaw is coming off a loss to the Cardinals in which he surrendered five runs (four earned) on eight hits in 4 1-3 innings.

Rounding out the Roundup . . .

Finally, there are three games on the WNBA’s schedule for Tuesday, with Tulsa at Los Angeles, New York at Connecticut, and Seattle at San Antonio. The Storm improved to 18-2 (and 13-6-1 ATS) with their ninth straight win last time out, beating Minnesota 73-71 on the road. Lauren Jackson scored 26 points for Seattle in that contest. The Silver Stars snapped a three-game losing streak by knocking off Los Angeles 83-73 at home in their last matchup. Roneeka Hodges tossed in 24 points for San Antonio in that game.
