Betting on MLB 2010 All Star Game

Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: Baseball enters its All-Star Break, with top sluggers from both the American League and National League battling in the Home Run Derby.

Meeting up on the diamond . . .

The American League will send the Yankees’ Nick Swisher, the Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera, the Red Sox’ David Ortiz, and the Blue Jays’ Vernon Wells to the plate in the Home Run Derby at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Monday night, while the National League counters with the Brewers’ Corey Hart, the Cardinals’ Matt Holliday, the Marlins’ Hanley Ramirez, and the Diamondbacks’ Chris Young. Cabrera leads that group of Derby participants with 22 home runs so far during the season, while Hart has 21, Wells has 19, Ortiz has 18, Holliday has 16, Young has 15, Swisher has 15, and Ramirez has 13.

Oddsmakers have Cabrera pegged as the 11/4 favorite to win the Derby on Monday night, followed by Ortiz at 3/1, Hart at 5/1, and Swisher at 5/1. Holliday sits at 11/2 odds to win the event, with Wells at 15/2, and both Young and Ramirez farther behind at 10/1.

Betjamaica the players paradise
