Thursday’s college football odds for the ACC encounter between Clemson and No.15 Georgia Tech, who have dominated the Tigers in recent years and are looking to make it three straight over their conference rival.

Clemson vs Georgia Tech odds – Thursday, September 10, 7:30 PM ET

The Tigers throttled Middle Tennessee State 37-14, with special teams and defense leading the way. C.J. Spiller began the game with a 96-yard kickoff return, Jacoby Ford ran back a punt 61 yards to the house, and Chris McCoy picked up a fumble and took it 68 yards. Spiller injured himself returning a punt back 50 yards, but he should be fine for tonight’s clash. The emphasis on running is due to a freshman pivot, Kyle Parker, who was 9-of-20 for 159 yards and two touchdowns.

The Yellow Jackets’ triple-option offense was lights out in a 37-17 romp over Jacksonville State, rushing for 335 yards, led by Jonathan Dwyer’s 95 yards and two scores. Quarterback Josh Nesbitt passed for 141 yards and a touchdown, along with 93 yards on the ground and another score. However, the Yellow Jackets lost three fumbles, which is a quick way to fall down the online betting ranks. You can bet that ball security was a major part of practice this week. The defense forced a couple of turnovers and held Jacksonville State to 291 yards, a lot of which came after the game was well in hand.

Betting services are backing Georgia Tech by five points, and the Yellow Jackets have won four of their last five against the Tigers, who have been outscored 23-12 in their last two trips to Bobby Dodd Field. The Tigers turned the ball over a whopping six times in last year’s 21-17 loss to the Yellow Jackets, and it’ll be a long day if they play like that again. The Tigers did pretty well against the triple-option, “holding” the Yellow Jackets to 207 yards on the ground, but with nine returning starters back for Georgia Tech, they won’t be able to hold them this time. Spiller may not be 100%, and it’s too much to ask of the young Barker to lead the Tigers to victory. Go with Georgia Tech in your sports picks.
