College Football Betting – Trojans Set To Explode Back On To Scene Now Free Of Sanctions

Betting on USC Football

After two very painful seasons of NCAA sanctions that included a postseason ban, the USC Trojans are ready to unleash all of the energy that has been held down since being hit with that penalty over Reggie Bush-related crimes. The timing couldn’t be better for a program that appears perfectly positioned to make a run for the PAC-12 title in its first year out from under the suspensions, with a chance to fight for both conference and national honors as well. Quarterback Matt Barkley and safety TJ McDonald both decided they were not going to enter the NFL draft, where they would have both very likely been first round picks. Instead, the two young leaders are back for another season of USC football, where they will look to take care of unfinished sportsbook business.

The Trojans will look to pick up from right where they left off in 2011, when they helped deny the Oregon Ducks another chance at the national title with a thrilling win in Eugene before dismantling the eventual PAC-12 South champion and rival UCLA 50-0 in their final regular season game. Of course, UCLA was only named champion because of USC’s postseason ban, but that won’t be the case again this season as the most talented online betting team in the conference loads up for 2012.

Any talk about that Trojans’ talent level begins and ends with Barkley, who will be a Heisman trophy hopeful if he can at least match his production from a year ago. Barkley can make all of the throws and is a smart decision-maker, and could be even better with another full offseason to work with head coach Lane Kiffin. Barkley threw for 3,528 yards and a PAC-12 record 39 touchdowns a year ago, and with two of the nation’s best wide receivers back in the fold as well in Marqise Lee and Robert Woods, there is no reason to think that the Trojan’s college football betting production will slow.

While the program boasts one of the most dynamic offenses in the country, USC has also made strides on the defensive side of the ball, where the All-American safety McDonald is back. Cornerback Nickell Robey has been dynamic both on defense and returning kicks on special teams, and with three sophomores starting at linebacker in Dion Bailey, Lamar Dawson, and Hayes Pullard, this unit will be tough to score on. However, health will be the biggest factor in how well this defense performs, as a lack of scholarships due to the sanctions imposed on the school has left USC with a lack of depth.

The SEC has dominated the national title picture the last few seasons, but if there is one consensus pick from outside the SEC that will challenge for a national title this season, the sports betting experts say it will be the Trojans. Dynamic on both sides of the ball this season, the Trojans need to play every game with the same level of focus and determination, and they will have no problem reaching the PAC-12 championship, and possibly even more on the national stage.
