No. 9 Wisconsin Badgers (-3) at Michigan Wolverines (+3) - Saturday, September 27 at 3:30 p.m. ET
In a classic Big Ten matchup, Wisconsin vs. Michigan lines favor the Badgers (1-1) by three points after Wisconsin escaped Fresno State with a narrow win last week. The Badgers’ 13-10 victory was a gritty one. P.J. Hill put up 112 yards on the ground while the Wisconsin “D” made several key stops.
The Wolverines (1-2), meanwhile, are reeling from a 35-17 loss at Notre Dame. Michigan made a ton of mistakes, turning the football over six times. Things aren’t going well for head coach Rich Rodriguez, who’s coaching his first season in town after arriving from West Virginia with much fanfare.
Those turnovers are a big reason Wisconsin vs. Michigan odds are leaning Wisconsin’s way. The Wolverines trailed 21-0 at one point during the first quarter against Notre Dame and, with the Badgers being a much better team, similar errors will easily bury Michigan’s chances.
This simply isn’t Michigan’s year. Wisconsin looks solid if unspectacular and it’s hard to believe the mistake-prone Wolverines can compete with the Badger defense. For Wisconsin vs. Michigan betting, go with the Badgers.
No. 22 Illinois Fighting Illini (+13.5) at No. 12 Penn State Nittany Lions (-13.5) - Saturday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET
In another key Big Ten battle, Illinois vs. Penn State odds heavily favor the home side. The Nittany Lions (4-0) have obliterated their competition this season, including a 45-3 demolition of Temple last week. That runs their points for/against to an absurd 211-40.
Running backs Evan Royster and Stephfon Green have been sensational, both averaging over seven yards a carry while combining for 11 touchdowns. With a running game like that, the Illinois vs. Penn State lines start to make even more sense.
The Illini (2-1) are on the verge of slipping out of the Top 25. They barely escaped with their lives against Louisiana-Lafayette despite playing at home, winning 20-17. Considering these teams have been on opposite sides of the spectrum, we like the home team to cover in Illinois vs. Penn State betting.
