Bet Jamaica Daily Sports Roundup: August 30

August 29, 2008

t’ll be Red Sox/White Sox action on Saturday night as Boston plays host to Chicago at Fenway Park in a key American League series.  Here’s your Daily Sports Roundup . . .

Event of the day . . .

Josh Beckett was supposed to start the opener of the Sox/Sox series for Boston on Friday, but he was scratched and Daisuke Matsuzaka was moved up in the rotation instead. That meant the Red Sox needed to find a pitcher for a spot start against the White Sox on Saturday night - and they seem to have settled on Michael Bowden for the job. Righthander Bowden will be making his Major-League debut in that contest.

The White Sox will send veteran Mark Buehrle (11-10, 3.86 ERA) to the mound on Saturday night. Chicago has managed to pick up the win in each of the lefthander’s last four starts. That includes an outing against the Red Sox back on August 8 when Buehrle gave up just a single earned run on four hits over his seven innings pitched.

Non-event of the day . . .

Hands up if you missed the WNBA during its Olympic break. Ok, hands up if you even knew the WNBA had an Olympic break. The summer’s afterthought-of-a-league has four games on its Saturday schedule, including San Antonio at Los Angeles. Also on the slate: Atlanta at Indiana, Washington at Minnesota, and Houston at Sacramento.

Also on the schedule . . .

Francisco Liriano (4-3, 3.83 ERA) will be looking to continue his impressive comeback when he pitches in Oakland for the Twins on Saturday night. Also on the American League schedule: Toronto at the Yankees (at 1:05pm ET), Baltimore at Tampa Bay, Seattle at Cleveland, Kansas City at Detroit, and Texas at the Angels.

Over in the National League the top pitching matchup is in Arizona, where it’ll be the Dodgers’ Chad Billingsley (12-10, 3.15 ERA) vs. the D-Backs’ Dan Haren (14-6, 3.10 ERA). Rounding out the NL slate: Philadelphia at the Cubs, Milwaukee at Pittsburgh, St. Louis at Houston, Atlanta at Washington, the Mets at Florida, San Francisco at Cincinnati, and Colorado at San Diego.

Finally, college football stages its first Saturday of wall-to-wall action, with No. 1 Georgia playing Georgia Southern in an expected blowout. Other notable matchups for the day include Hawaii vs. No. 5 Florida (-34.5), No. 24 Alabama vs. No. 9 Clemson (-4.5), No. 20 Illinois vs. No. 6 Missouri (-8.5), and No. 3 Southern California (-19.5) vs. Virginia.

News from the wire . . .

Outfielder Mark Kotsay made his debut for the Red Sox on Thursday, collecting one hit in four at-bats . . . the Blue Jays have sent veteran outfielder Matt Stairs to the Phillies and recalled top prospect Travis Snider . . . Tight end Todd Heap returned to action for the Ravens on Thursday . . . Colts head coach Tony Dungy fully expects quarterback Peyton Manning to be ready to play for the team in its season opener next week.

Peek at the future . . .

The Sunday night baseball game this week is Los Angeles at Arizona, with Derek Lowe (10-11, 3.81 ERA) facing Brandon Webb (19-5, 2.96 ERA) . . . Coverage of the Pepsi 500 at Auto Club Speedway begins at 7:00pm ET on Sunday . . . the Giants are listed as 3.5-point home favorites against the Redskins in next Thursday’s NFL kickoff game.

MLB Match-Up Saturday – NL powers go head-to-head in Chicago

August 29, 2008

Two of the most powerful offenses in the National League will look to put on a show at Wrigley Field on Saturday afternoon, as the Central-leading Chicago Cubs will host the East’s Philadelphia Phillies, who are looking to keep their World Series odds from falling any further.

Philadelphia Phillies at Chicago Cubs – 3:55 PM ET

Brett Myers (7-10, 4.49) tossed his second straight shutout in a 5-0 win over the Dodgers at home, throwing a nine-hitter over seven innings, along with eight strikeouts and three walks. The 28-year-old righthander got off to a 3-9 start and was promptly sent to the minors, but has come back with renewed confidence. In his seven starts since coming back to the majors, Myers has allowed only nine runs, given up a pair of homers, and has posted a 4-1 record. One of Myers’ best outings of the season came against the Cubs, as he scattered three runs on five hits over eight innings to lead the Phillies to a 5-3 win at home.

Ted Lilly (13-7, 4.23) has become the forgotten man in the Chicago rotation with Carlos Zambrano, Rich Harden and Ryan Dempster on board, but the 32-year-old southpaw has been as crucial to the Cubs’ World Series odds as anyone. He claimed his second win in three starts during a 12-3 rout at Pittsburgh, giving up three runs on seven hits over seven innings, while striking out seven with a single walk. If there is a negative from this outing, it is that Lilly gave up a pair of homers to the Pirates, but those were his only two mistakes of the game. Lilly was pelted in his last start against the Phillies, lasting just 4 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits as the Cubs fell 7-1 in Philadelphia.

The Cubs used a late rally to take the opener of this four-game set by a 6-4 scoreline, scoring five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning behind Aramis Ramirez’s grand slam. Expect more fireworks in this one, and it will be up to Lilly and Myers to minimize the damage. Lilly has a slight edge in the pitching match-up, so bet on the Chicago Cubs to take one more step towards the playoffs with a win on Saturday.

Bet Jamaica Daily Sports Roundup: August 29

August 29, 2008

National League West rivals Los Angeles and Arizona will go head-to-head on Friday night in the first game of a three-game series.  Here’s your Daily Sports Roundup . . .

Event of the day . . .

The Dodgers and Diamondbacks have both played so poorly lately that they’ve actually given the lowly Rockies some hope in the NL West division race. Still, at least one of those clubs will be able to pick up some wins on the weekend in their division clash.

Hiroki Kuroda (7-9, 3.87 ERA) will get the road start for Los Angeles on Friday night. The Dodgers are 4-6 in Kuroda’s last 10 trips to the mound, but the righthander has been effective in August (giving up just one earned run in four of five starts). Last time out, against the Phillies, Kuroda gave up just one run on two hits over his six innings.

Countering for the Diamondbacks will be Doug Davis (5-8, 4.63 ERA). Arizona is only 2-8 in Davis’ last 10 starts, with the lefthander going 2-5 with three no-decisions over that span. Davis was beaten by the Marlins in his last outing, surrendering three earned runs on seven hits over seven innings (while walking none and striking out eight hitters).

Non-event of the day . . .

If the Nats are going to avoid having the worst record in the NL this season they’re going to have to beat teams like the Braves, who are just above them in the NL East standings. Washington will send Odalis Perez (5-10, 4.21 ERA) to the mound at home against Atlanta on Friday, with the Braves going with Jorge Campillo (7-6, 3.37 ERA).

Also on the schedule . . .

Other National League games on Friday: Philadelphia at the Cubs, Milwaukee at Pittsburgh, the Mets at Florida, San Francisco at Cincinnati, St. Louis at Houston, and Colorado at San Diego. Over in the American League it’ll be the White Sox at Boston, Seattle at Cleveland, Kansas City at Detroit, Toronto at the Yankees, Baltimore at Tampa Bay, Minnesota at Oakland, and Texas at the Angels.

The PGA Tour’s second playoff tournament, the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston, gets underway on Friday morning and continues through Monday. Phil Mickelson remains the 6/1 Vegas favorite to win the tournament, with Sergio Garcia at 8/1. Padraig Harrington (10/1) and Vijay Singh (12/1) are the other top contenders.

There are six pigskin matchups spread over three leagues on Friday night. The NFL concludes its preseason schedule with three games: San Diego at San Francisco (-2), Oakland at Seattle (-3), and Denver at Arizona (-3). Meanwhile, the college football season continues with Temple (-7) at Army, and SMU at Rice (-3.5). And finally, it’s Montreal (-5) playing host to British Columbia in Canadian Football League action.

Friday’s sports schedule then concludes with three WNBA contests in the early evening: Washington hosts Chicago, Connecticut visits Atlanta, and New York is at Detroit.

News from the wire . . .

Cardinals starting pitcher Chris Carpenter has been throwing bullpen sessions, but it’s unknown when he’ll be able to return to the team . . . Colts center Jeff Saturday is expected to miss at least the next six weeks with ligament damage in his knee . . . Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman has decided to play football this season.

Peek at the future . . .

Chad Billingsley (12-10, 3.15 ERA) and Dan Haren (14-6, 3.10 ERA) are scheduled to take the mound in the Dodgers/Diamondbacks matchup on Saturday . . . Carl Edwards is the 5/1 favorite to win the Pepsi 500 on Sunday night, with Kyle Busch just behind him on the Vegas odds list at 6/1 . . . the first game of the National Football League’s regular season is next Thursday night, with the Giants playing host to the Redskins.

Gambling IQ Commentary On the Bodog Fiasco

August 29, 2008

The Bodog Fiasco has been going on for Months on end now. It only seems to get worse. The hard thing to grasp is that there are potentially 10’s of thousands of players who possibly have funds at risk right now.

We have been watching this Situation very closely. What we are seeing is very disturbing. Every website you go to from the Poker Players Alliance to Gambling 911 you see horror stories of payouts taking a minimum of 40 days. No matter how big or small the sports forum is you see several complaints. This has been going on Since early in the year and is not getting better. Right Now if you put in a payout request at Bodog you may get it in time to buy a turkey for Thanksgiving. That is totally unacceptable for online gambling site.

Lets talk a little history here. Just some speculation on our part with some of this. Slow Payments at Bodog have been heard of and on the increase for the past couple of years. At first you just blew it off as an effect of the UIGEA that caused many problems for almost all online gambling portals. But the problem is Bodogs payment time rarely was better than 30 days for a check and slowly all the other payment methods would dry up. What Caused this?

Was it the acquisition of WWTS when they pulled out of the US market right ofter the UIGEA was passed? After a couple of other deals from prominent sportsbooks fell through at the last minute Bodog swept in and bought the accounts and merged them into Bogog. Did they underestimate the Damage that taking on all this added debt was going to damage the company with the limited access US players had to deposit? I know for a fact of One deal that fell thru to buy WWTS because of the trouble of transferring funds around now because of the gambing act. Did Bodog not do their due diligence as a company? Did these decisions eat into their cash flow with players cashing out of Bodog once rollovers were met because of Bodog’s limited betting options? When you go from a Solid shop like WWTS to Bodog who does not offer hafltime lines on most games, No totals on games with big spreads, lines up 2 hours before kickoff, etc. it is a real eyeopener to many players. Going from a book with many options to a book that only wants squares and gives a true bettor no real options to play had to cause some kind of run on the bank.

You add that into the other failed ventures that had to eat into their cashflow like Bodog Music, Bodog Fights, Bodog TV, etc.. There was hardly anything Bodog didn’t have their name on at one time. We even have where Bodog stiffed one of their own fighters under Contract. They did not honor their contract with former US Olympic Greco-Roman wrestler Matt Lindland. They cost him no telling how much money because it was an exclusive contract and he could not fight elsewhere. How many more are out there that we don’t know about?

Then you add into the fact that Calvin Ayre was flaunting Bodog in the US Governments face for years. He was throwing parties in Vegas, advertising on the Radio and TV virtually all over the United States. Basically telling the US Department of Justice to screw themselves. He did not learn a lesson from disgraced BetOnSports owner Gary Kaplan and Top Executive David Carruthers that you don’t tell the US Government to screw off. Instead of learning from their mistakes he goes out and puts himself on the cover of Forbes magazine claiming he was a Billionaire playboy.

Lets move on to them losing a almost $49 Million lawsuit to 1st Technology LLC and having to spend untold millions in rebranding their company from Bodog to NewBodog and Bodoglife. You can’t put a figure on the amount of money they potentially lost just by the hit from search engines.

We also have many reports that Bodog was nothing more than a name ran be several shell companies. Plenty of sources have came forward (Matt Lindland is one) to make this claim. They are likely correct in their assessment. We know from experience in the past that we would have to be in contact with 2 or 3 different people at companies just to get Contest winners paid that Bodog would sponsor. This would be a 2 week process at least. Then they would have to audit the player. Several times they would claim the guy was not eligible after the contest was over, virtually changing the rules after the winners were announced. This laborous and unethical process by the old Riptown Media caused all contests on the forums we were involved with at the time to stop. It was not fair to our players.

Then we get into the seized funds by the feds that has been well documented. We are talking two seizures of funds worth approximately $24 Million in cash taken from what is being strongly rumored were nothing but shell companies for Bodog. You can read the complaints against Bodog for the $14 million seizure here and the $9.8 Million seizure here. As you can see Calvin Ayre’s name is plastered all over these documents. That does not bode well for anyone involved in this. Then you add in the fact that Calvin mysteriously resigned after the first round of funds was seized early this year. He retired and transferred ownership to Morris Mohawk gaming. After his retirement he is reportedly on the run and said to be living in Antigua.

Calvin is reportedly still running the company but that can’t be confirmed.

You can probably safely say that if it were not for Bodog Poker this company would have been under by now. Poker is huge money maker for the company and brings a influx of immediate cash to the table. But you can only rob Peter to Pay Paul so long. We have sadly seen in the past that companies that do not hold post up funds in escrow to pay out players eventually get caught with their hands in the cookie jar and go under.

Is Bodog going under tomorrow? Probably not. Will they Go Under at all? No one can answer that question at this time. But things do not look good. This is all going to depend on if they can start paying out people in a timely manner. I am talking 2 weeks maximum to get funds to players. Once enough people get paid from them they will not send more. They will move on and Bodog will have to go the Route of BetOnSports and hope to get new players to make up for the exodus of players leaving. This is a very dangerous business model and is most likely going on at this moment as evidenced by the more than 200 layoffs by their marketing and support firm Fiver Media (formerly Riptown Media).

You just have to ask yourself One Question. Why all the layoffs at the start of Football season when Most other books are adding employees? This is most Books busiest time of the year. Especially ones that are US facing. It absolutely makes no sense. Even books on the ropes have been begging for football to get here for the influx of deposits.

What is sad is all the players who do not know about online forums and can inform themselves of this situation.

In Conclusion Gambling IQ believes that no player should send money to Bodog at this time. Their are too many red flags and warning signs out there. You can see the smoke signals coming off the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory. Is it a desperate call for Help? We hope not.

Any Forum Owners who can honestly send their players to play at Bodog right now need to be shut down. It is Unethical and not prudent for the player, the Posters of the forums or the Online Industry. How these forum Owners can look in the Mirror is amazing and it gives a huge slap in the face to every forum owner in this Industry. Lets just hope that the posters can see through all the fluff and circumstance and find Online Gambling forums that have the players interest truly at heart.

It is time for the Sportsbooks and Poker rooms to PULL ALL ADVERTISING AND CLOSE ALL AFFILIATE SHEETS for these forums that promote promote this type of action. All you have to do is look at the Banners flying at the top to see what kind of forum you are a member of. Until the Onwers of the respected and Highly rated Online Gambling sites stick together (B rating or Better at SportsBookReview) then players will be thrown to the wolves.

Are we saying turn your back on a book or poker room that is having temporary trouble? No way should that happen. But at some point you have to say enough is enough. All books have processing troubles from time to time and they pull out of it. But Most books don’t have all the warning signs seen in this situation. It is following a eery script we have all seen in the past with a book going from Highly respected to out of business in a matter of months.

Do we hope Bodog goes under and 10’s of thousands of players get stiffed on untold millions of dollars? The Answer is an emphatic NO. But at the same time you have to protect your current posters and readers so the losses are limited to the players that are there at this time. You don’t want to let anyone else get caught up in the Fiasco that builds every day.

There is no excuse to send money there when you have Sportsbooks like The Greek, Bet Jamaica, BetOnline, Looselines, 5Dimes, The PIG, Legendz Sportsbook, WSEX, Matchbook, Carib, and many more that are paying out in a timely manner. Many in just a few days. Some within Minutes of your request with certain Withdrawal methods. You have many respected Poker rooms like Doyle’s Room, Full Tilt, Poker Stars, Party Poker, Carbon Poker, and many more as well that are highly respected and paying out quickly.

In Short. Gambling IQ does not recommend sending any money to Bodog at this time or even in the near future. There is not ONE Reason anybody can give a player to send to Bodog at this time.

Please as a Poster at these forums do your homework and only support the forums that actually have your best interests at heart and are not worried if that advertising Check the bad books send them each month clear the bank.

Thank you.

NCAA Football Futures – Trojans, Buckeyes at top of BCS pile

August 28, 2008

USC fell short of the BCS title game thanks to an upset to lowly Stanford, while Ohio State have been trounced in the past two BCS title games by teams from the SEC (Florida and LSU), but that has not stopped oddsmakers from putting the Trojans and Buckeyes at the top of the NCAA football odds heap. However, they will face stiff competition from the likes of Oklahoma and preseason No.1 Georgia.

The Trojans have a tough schedule, playing in the Pac-10, but their most difficult opponents, Ohio State and Arizona State, visit the Rose Bowl. USC received a boost when it was announced that injured quarterback Mark Sanchez would be ready for the start of the season, but the Trojans still have an offensive line with four new starters. Look for the defense, which welcomes back seven starters led by linebacker Rey Maualuga, to carry the team early in the season as USC was second only to Ohio State in total defense last season. USC has NCAA football odds of +350.

The Buckeyes are rated at +400, and they are an experienced bunch with 20 returning starters, including nine from last year’s defense which was the best in the nation. Running back Chris Wells is a legitimate Heisman candidate, and a lot of people will also be interested to see how highly-touted freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor fits into the Buckeyes’ gameplan. Their trip to USC on Septemer 13th will have huge national implications.

Oklahoma comes in at at +500, and a midseason back-to-back against Texas and Kansas will show them if they are truly the class of the Big 12. Quarterback Sam Bradford returns from a brilliant freshman with seven other starters, but with only five starters back on defense, the Sooners could be in line for some shootouts.

Georgia may have the toughest schedule in the country, but that comes with playing in the brutal SEC. The Bulldogs go to South Carolina and Arizona in the first four weeks of the season, then at LSU, Florida and at Auburn, just to name a few. It is a good thing they have a Heisman candidate in sophomore running back Knowshon Moreno, a confident quarterback in Matt Stafford and nine returning starters on defense. It could be smart to grab the Bulldogs at NCAA football odds of +500.

Bet Jamaica Daily Sports Roundup: August 28

August 28, 2008

It’s a Super Bowl rematch - preseason style - on Thursday night as the champion New York Giants play host to the New England Patriots. Here’s your Daily Sports Roundup…

Event of the day . . .

The Giants derailed the Patriots’ perfect season last year, and they get a chance to knock them for a loss again when the two teams meet at Giants Stadium on Thursday.

Of course, New York will be without two key defensive players when they take on New England. Osi Umenyiora’s knee injury will see him placed on injured reserve and miss the entire season. Michael Strahan retired after the Super Bowl victory, and despite the team’s overtures he’s not coming back this year to fill in for the injured Umenyiora.

The Patriots are still dealing with Tom Brady’s foot injury, although its severity has not been thoroughly discussed by the team. Brady says he’ll be ready for the Pats’ Week 1 contest, but it seems unlikely that he’ll play on Thursday night. The oddsmakers have the Giants pegged as 2-point home favorites, with the game’s total listed at 36 points.

Non-event of the day . . .

Aaron Harang and Brandon Backe have combined for 25 losses already this season, and each of them will be looking to avoid yet another defeat on Thursday afternoon when the Astros play host to the Reds. Harang is 4-13 with a 5.35 ERA so far on the year, while Backe has a slightly better record (8-12) but an even higher ERA (5.54).

Also on the schedule . . .

There are a dozen more National Football League contests on Thursday night as the league winds down its exhibition slate: Detroit at Buffalo, Carolina at Pittsburgh, Jacksonville at Washington, Atlanta at Baltimore, Cincinnati at Indianapolis, the Jets at Philadelphia, Tennessee at Green Bay, St. Louis at Kansas City, Chicago at Cleveland, Minnesota at Dallas, Miami at New Orleans, and Tampa Bay at Houston.

College football kicks off its season on Thursday night, but with just one ranked team in action - No. 23 Wake Forest takes on Baylor as a 12-point favorite. The other games on the board: UTEP vs. Buffalo (-3), Vanderbilt vs. Miami-Ohio (-3.5), North Carolina State vs. South Carolina (-13.5), Oregon State (-3) vs. Stanford, Troy (-6.5) vs. Middle Tenn.

There are seven other games on the diamond on a light Thursday schedule, including Jon Lester (12-5, 3.49 ERA) vs. Mike Mussina (16-7, 3.45 ERA) in the BoSox/Yankees matchup. In other AL action it’s Toronto at Tampa Bay, Texas at the Angels, and Minnesota at Oakland. Meanwhile, the rest of the National League schedule includes Florida at Atlanta, the Dodgers at Washington, and finally Philadelphia at the Cubs.

As well, the WNBA returns from its Olympic break with five games on Thursday night. Connecticut and Indiana get things underway at 7:00pm ET, followed by Chicago at New York a half hour later. Three western contests then round out the night’s slate: San Antonio at Phoenix, Houston at Seattle, and then finally Sacramento at Los Angeles.

News from the wire . . .

Nationals outfielder Austin Kearns was placed on the disabled list with a foot injury on Tuesday; Elijah Dukes was activated to take his place on the roster . . . Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Webb was knocked around by the Dodgers on Tuesday night and was denied his 20th win of the season . . . Major League Baseball will start to use instant replay on Thursday, allowing umpires to check questionable home run calls.

Peek at the future . . .

There are three preseason NFL games on Friday: Denver at Arizona, San Diego at San Francisco, and Oakland at Seattle . . . the two college football matchups on Friday are Temple at Army and SMU at Rice . . . the Sprint Cup Series returns with the Pepsi 500 at Auto Club Speedway on Sunday night; the circuit’s pre-Chase schedule concludes with the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway on September 6.

MLB Futures Betting – Angels, Cubs favored to meet in “Fall Classic”

August 27, 2008

The Los Angeles Angels have rolled through the American League West thus far, and they appear to be getting stronger as they head towards the postseason. Meanwhile, the Chicago Cubs have recently been dubbed the most complete team in baseball by Sports Illustrated, but something always goes wrong for the team with the longest championship drought in all of professional sports. However, MLB betting odds say these are the two teams with the best shot at raising the “Commissioner’s Trophy”.

The Angels are the World Series favorites at +335, and to be honest, their offense has not been as good in recent years. But the acquisition of Mark Teixeira is paying off, and with pitching like the Angels have, you do not have to score a boatload of runs. All five of their starters, led by Joe Saunders, have at least ten wins and they also have the best closer in the big leagues in Francisco Rodriguez, which means a lot in the close, pressure-filled games of the playoffs.

The Cubs are just behind the Angels at +350, and with a rotation of Carlos Zambrano, Rich Harden, Ryan Dempster and Ted Lilly, Chicago can compete with anyone in the majors. But they have also scored the second-most runs in the majors, and that is a deadly combination for the opposition. The only question is: can the Cubs avoid the bad luck that has seemed to plague them for the past century?

The defending champion Boston Red Sox come in with World Series odds of +505, but they have experienced some injuries as of late, notably to 2007 World Series MVP Mike Lowell, as well as 2003 Word Series MVP Josh Beckett and veteran knuckleballer Tim Wakefield in the rotation. However, Red Sox fans are happy to see Jason Bay getting acclimated to his new surroundings.

The surprise darlings of the season, the Tampa Bay Rays, are rated at +610, and only their lack of playoff experience (or any kind of experience, for that matter) puts them below the Red Sox, who trail the Rays by 3 ½ games as of August 27. The trio of Scott Kazmir, James Shields and Matt Garza is as good as any in the American League, and their fearlessness sets the table for the rest of the team. However, injuries to All-Star rookie Evan Longoria and Carl Crawford could hurt the Rays come October.

A solid darkhorse bet would be Arizona, who have World Series odds of +1400. The Diamondbacks have some offensive troubles, but any club that can trot out probable Cy Young winner (and 2006 Cy Young recipient) Brandon Webb, five-time Cy Young winner (and 2001 World Series MVP) Randy Johnson, and Dan Haren (who would be an ace anywhere else) will always have a chance.

College Football: Georgia Tech Vs. Jacksonville State — Thursday, August 28, 2008

August 27, 2008

Ok guys.. I am throwing out some random thoughts here….

Tech has 75 Freshmen and Sophmores on the 110 man limit Roster and 60 of Those are on Scholarship… so that only leaves 20 Upper classmen.. as Tech is on 80 Scholarship Limit until Next year

5Dimes is the only Book I have seen with a Line on the Game. They Currently have it Georgia Tech -29.

True Freshman Jaybo Shaw will also see playing Time at QB. He is a local boy here from Flowery Branch High School and has been running Johnson’s offense since he was 5 years old.

Also…they are saying this may be Tech’s Best Defense ever… They have some experience at End, Interior and Middle Linebacker…but not much else…This unit will gel but may take some time.. Only 4 starters are back on D but they all 4 will be All ACC Most likely… They are deep but very young..Look for tons of growing pains… I will be happy with a 5 win season.

Offense is what I am worried about .. Nesbit (the starter) has played Sparingly in his time at Tech and only has around 50 Snaps I believe to his credit and only a few passes…. But he is Talented…Shaw ran this offense in High School. He is from my area and put up some great numbers at Flowery Branch High (right next to Falcons Complex), but I don’t think he is ready for Big Time Football yet……They have a lot of Talent at WR and RB but every where else they are very young and inexperienced…

Will they win Tomorrow Night..Yes… but I don’t believe they cover.. It will be 24-10 or something like that… Perrilloux will make some plays and it will be up to Techs Front to get to him. If they don’t, then the inexperience of the rest of the Field will cause Trouble.

Weather will not be a Problem… Supposed to be Clear and in the upper 60’s….The Field has been covered so it will be dry despite the 10″ of rain that has fallen over the Atlanta area the last few days
